Over 25 Years the Casolese commemoration of the Nativity is among the most popular in Tuscany and has gained resonance even in Rai TV and in foreign media. Casole d'Elsa (province of Siena) every two years from 26 December - Boxing Day - 6 January - Epiphany - host and the entyre village and a large number of its inhabitants represent the traditional Nativity with great success.

The living nativity scene of Casole d'Elsa was voted as the best living nativity scene in Italy.

An entire portion of the village is transformed into a village from another time, more than 300 animated figures in period costume. The clothes are recreated with historical accuracy to the point of aging tissues with proper treatment.

Cellars and streets are lit by torches decorated with poor materials. Barter goods to market, in the workshops is hot work. While shepherds caring for live animals and bonfires to warm themselves, the soldiers supervise the census and inns welcome travelers.

At the hut with the Holy Family, in the representation of the three wise men arriving on January 6 on real camels bearing gifts for Jesus, who - the only exception to the rule of strict fidelity in reconstruction - is a doll that was blessed on Christmas Eve with all other households Casolese Infant cribs.
